This cozy home brings to life many things we love about modern tropical design.  

The Hawaiian home feels very airy because of it's white walls and tall ceilings.  Its high windows bring in ambient light into the center of the home.  Greens and blues where carried into the interior accents for a tropical pop. The client loves the ocean so modern art was selected from a local artist to complete the Hawaiian Interior.

A traditional kitchen plan would be nonfunctional in this space because of the homes unique layout. Voit Studios designed floor to ceiling millwork at opposite walls for some much needed storage.  A center table was customize to operate as the island while preparing the meal and then serve as a dining table.

The master now has a walk-in closet, loft and lots of built-in storage. The modern aquas and mint hues coupled with refined textures create a relaxing calm Hawaiian Interior.

Hawaiian interior design

Hawaiian interior design firm, Voit Studios specializes in luxury resort homes. They design custom furniture that is locally sourced. Ohia is a great wood that is grown on the Big Island, often removed for land use, that can be re-purposed for furniture and flooring.  Modern graphics of Hawaiian motifs are an easy way to include a cultural touch.  So much of traditional Hawaiian Architecture is heavy because of the amount of wood.  Art and softgoods (upholstery, pillows, fabric, bedding, etc) are an easy way to brighten up the interior with tropical colors.

 
Now that Kukio and Hualalai are around 15 years old, many of the original resort residents are in need of an update and aren't selling.  The Kohala Residence from Voit Studios portfolio transforms a lackluster property into one with a modern tropical character.  With a few countertops, wall-coverings, architectural trim, lights, art and furniture this looks like a new property that is sure to move quickly.
